This Caspian Blue is the bee's knees IMO, wow. My hope for a low priced 390 is slowly fading away...
What did 390's go for on Ebay a couple years ago? Anyone know?

He put EMGs in it and thinks it's still worth that?

His auction states he doubts one could find another one cleaner than his.
I'll take that action all day long...
Am I seeing things or did he already drop his prices by $50.00 ??

Re: OUch - high starting price 390 CB
It is a nice one - but I'd rather bid on the 350 than take a stab at that price for the 390. He should have put this up after xmas - maybe around tax return time. That's a tough sell this time of year.

I guess he has high expectations. Thats a bit over the top I thinks since it has been modded even with the EMG's.

I have EMG's in my 390 and I love it. I'm not sure if the 390CB came with MMK 45, 53, or 75's, but The 81/85 combo in my 390 sounds just as good (but different) than my 350 with the original pickups. PUPS are all about taste - put what ya like in there, and let the guitar do the rest. I don;t think a pickup swap changes the value much to me. I'd rather have the original knobs than the original PUPS - cause I change pUPs for what suits me.

Nope. It is not you... it sold.
X390's had MMK75's stock, BTW.

Re: OUch - high starting price 390 CB
thats the highest 390 sold that I am aware of
ICE - I think you need to go for the 350. I'm thinking you need it - you went a huge distance for the x410, this 350 is yours for the grabbing

Re: OUch - high starting price 390 CB
It was me that just got that CB 390...I know I just added to the craziness that has been going on with the escalation of prices on these things, but I, like a lot of others have been hunting for this guitar for at least 10 years now. The EMG thing didn't bother me much because I actually am a fan of EMG and have had them in serveral guitars over the years. Do I wish it was 100% original, yes of course, but I wish I had Trevor's (Tom's!!!) 390 too...I basically thought it over for a few hours after my eBay 'saved' searches sent me an email this morning and the guitar I've been hunting for years was right there in front of me just a click away. A couple of messages to the seller later and he agreed to drop the buy it now price enough to force my hand. It didn't hurt that I had just sold one of my Parker guitars that I had on eBay a few hours ago too which helped pay for most of the Pantera. I am relieved that the search is over and know that I have one of my dream guitars on the way to me.
Some people will call me nuts, but it is really just a question of supply and demand, knowing now that the 390 is as limited as it is, is what caused me to pull the trigger on it today as I probably would have just given up on getting one for good if I let this one go...
Happy to be part of the Westone family now!

Welcome back, JC! We might think the price is crazy, but if you're happy with it that's all that matters!

Congrats to you JC. I had no idea when I purchased the one my wife now owns what it really was at the time, but once I first laid eyes on it I was instantly certain I had done the right thing in getting it.
Glad you were able to fulfill your mission. Hope you enjoy it for many, many years to come.

And before you know it you will find another excuse, and another, and another, and so on and so on and so on...
So what is the backstory on how you came to wanting a Pantera so badly ( not that there's anything wrong with that of course ) to spend 10 years in pursuit?
Played one in the past? Heard of them from a friend?

Re: OUch - high starting price 390 CB
Congrats on the completion of a long search. I understand how it goes when you have been looking for a certain guitar for some time. I agree with the post about the EMG's. They are nice pups but I prefer the originals but would have also settled on this one as they do not surface and show themselves often. Congrats on a great guitar and enjoy.
