MMK45's Prices are Getting Crazy!

Post  Barry on Mon Oct 24, 2011 2:55 am

In an idle moment I thought I'd have a look around for a set of 45 pups to replace the UBC's in my Spectrum DX. I picked up a pair, that's a pair, about a year ago off eBay for about CAN$62 incl "shipping". Put 'em in my ST.

Well, lemme tell ya, I was stunned at the prices! Shocked
These things are taking on a life of their own. Just have a look at this search result:
MMK45's on eBay

Those zebras are drool worthy but you can get an entire Mats for what they're asking! Crying or Very sad
I may never find a reasonably priced set at this rate. What the heck is going on?

Dunno Barry. Some of those pairs have been on the 'bay for 6 months or better and the prices never are dropped.

I lucked into a pair earlier in the year at a local Music Go 'Round for $49.95. I have yet to find any on Craigslist.

Yeah, I'd really been noticing this sort of thing.

These idiot sellers are basing a lot of this pricing nonsense upon us, the ever growing populace of "collector/players", as I call us anyway. My take is that we're the source of the dreaded inflation! scratch Can't really be helped though. Sure stinks, but what do ya do.

It's still chockfull of flavor.

This has to be a case of our innocent little site being the tail which wags the dog... or at least us being one leg of that drum stool, with our Electra and Mats cuzzes being the other legs.

Don't tell a soul...too late Laughing

Those pups have been on sale for months, way over the top. Approaching Gibson silly prices.
Only an idiot would pay that for those. Evil or Very Mad
