Thunder iii fretless bass

Post  Dartman on Mon Jun 13, 2011 12:29 pm

I have a Thunder iii fretless bass which has sat in a case for the last 20 years and is in mint condition. I have checked it out over the weekend and the active circuits appear to be all ok.
Can anybody let me know a "foolproof" testing procedure to ensure that the circuits ARE all ok?
Anybody interested in buying it, please let me know and I will send pictures etc.
Probably only of interest to UK buyers.

Thanks

Dartman

If anyone buys this (when pics go up) and doesn't want /need the case - can we do a deal?

I'm the very proud new owner of this one. I only received it today so will put up some photos hopefully tomorrow. When I unpacked it and saw the condition and the really nice grain of the walnut finished body and macasar ebony fingerboard my jaw nearly hit the floor!! Its in near mint, true 'closet classic' condition - amazing for a 27 year old bass!
As for the case chaypup, its just an old eighties generic bass case, not the original Westone one. I do have an original early 'script' logo Westone case which I got with my '82 Thunder III fretted version. That bass is stripped down for a clean and polish at the moment, but I will post a photo when its all back together. The case will now be home to the fretless Smile

how much did you get it for, if you don't mind my asking? (if it was a massive bargain - don't tell me - I'll cry) cyclops

I won't divulge how much I paid, but I didn't pay the asking price (which itself turned out to be a total bargain given the condition and rarity of one of these) Very Happy
