What Westone do you play?

Post  grogg on Mon Jan 31, 2011 10:53 pm

Which of your Westies do you play the most and why?

Me its my Thunder1 originally cos its the cheapest and didnt mind knocking it about cos its solid, no poncey finishes. Have tweaked it and get really great tone and playability.

I appreciate this might not be the right section of the forum but it follows the previous thread.

My Session II because it was the only Westone I had for the last 22 or so years, until last week that is, now my Pantera X300 will have to do a bit of catching up Arrow

Unfortunately none for me at the moment.

The 390 still needs to be wet sanded and assembled

The 350 is getting a fret job.

The 300 was stripped of its hardware and paint yesterday and is ready to begin its transformation into a 12 string.

Either my Spectrum GT bass or my red Rail bass. I use the red Rail often at band practice and mostly the Spectrum at home. But I switch stuff around a lot.

Spectrum LX/MX simply because they're the only two I have here in Jersey... soon to be joined by a Spectrum SP1012!! Although the Specs are the only guitars I have here, I strongly suspect that I would be piddling about on a Spectrum of some sort anyway; I have a few of them .... why? Because I like them... a lot!! Laughing
My electric lineup at the moment is

Spectrum LX, MX, {Jersey}

Spectrum GT, ST and GTBass. Genesis II. Clipper CL4112 (x2). Electra Phoenix X195. Vantage VA900. Vantage Invader II. {New Zealand}

Vantage AV310. {U.S.}

Spectrum II SP1012 {Scotland, temporarily!!}

Very observant hypo.

It just that the 350 it's almost mint and only goes out on special occasions.
The Thunder II is just to hand, always. Like the 24 3/4 scale also.

Customised Paduak - Schaller bridge, Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and Jazz in the neck - nice big dunlop frets and dropped the tone & active. Laughing

My Thunder 1 lefty.

coz it's the only one I own Crying or Very sad

I keep it tuned in Open G - great for blues and Stones stuff.
The next most played is my Vantage VP820...

On the lookout for another "woodie" Mat, but lefties are few and far between...

There's a leftie in New Zealand for sale at the moment....

... but you'll have to get someone in NZ to bid, win and send to you, eh!!

#1 Spectrum LX, She is in 440 standard tuning & has a more playability than the Thunder 1.(trem, fine tune,ect..)

#2 Thunder 1, Down tuned to D, found she has more GRUNT! for the heavy stuff.
I love them both.
Cheers,
Richie.

I have a prestige 250 which without a doubt is the nicest guitar I ever played ( only one close was a PRS similar to santana plays - cant remember model )
but the one I play the most is my new Rainbow 1 - never been so addicted to a new (old ) guitar before - just love the tone
