Nice. But you could post some bigger pictures, eh??? What's the Spec III like as an instrument? And does it have the maddening arrangement of 3 on/off switches for the p'ups?

Nice!!! John like!!! And is that an Aria Pro II Vee, there?? Anyway, the production went to Korea in late 87/early 88 and the first lot of guitars made in Korea were probably built using leftover MIJ parts, which is why yours has the Bendmaster Deluxe bridge. What this means for us as Matsumoku aficionados is that MIK guitars are not as interesting as MIJ guitars and the auction prices often reflect that. That is to say that they aren't good guitars - I have 2 Clippers which may be MIK which are beautiful players with a lovely, if trifle weak, sound. And I quite fancy the flouro pink XA1440....

Thorn knows a lot more about this than I do, and Tom Presley is hereabouts too and has given us a potted history of the changeover which is in here somewhere.

The neck join is elegant, eh; and those screws will actually be machine bolts into threaded steel inserts in the neck heel which are so much more secure than big, honking wood screws....

of the westones i have been playing the spectrum III the most. its just more comfortable. I continue to hope that i find a trem arm for it one day. by the way , since i probably wont ever get an original ,is there another brand that would fit. ok back to favs to play.. i like the spectrum. I love the push pull pots on the dynasty even though i can tell to much difference int he sound.. i love the burns brian may.. talk about a options on the sounds.. wow.. and yes that is a Aria pro II xx deluxe.. awesome guitar

I didnt notice till tonight but the tuners on the dynasty arnt original and the saddles have been replaced.. also looks like the knobs arnt original either.. oh well at least the body and neck are..

The knobs are indeed the OEM Switchmasters... for a Westone!! And the bar for the Bendmaster is at Stewmacs under Foreign Trems somewhere... IF Thorn has none left; check with him first.

Could you take a clear close up of the saddles on the Bendmaster please; the OEM saddles are a roller saddle - which don't actually roll - and a right bitch to intonate properly!!

Have you had the h/b pickup out of the Spec III; does it have anything written on it's bum?

Here's a bit of info on your Dynasty...
