Need some help with a Quest neck through 24 fret

Post  Boiling on Mon Jul 19, 2010 8:42 pm

Well, I've just heard about Quest guitar today, and in turn, Matsumoku. Someone offered to trade me a Quest for one of my guitars. I don't have much information about it other than it's a 24 fret, neck through Quest. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some more information on the guitar, and possibly an idea of what it's worth.

Thanks!

oooh, now that's tasty!! Unfortunately there's not a whole hell of a lot known about Quest although one of the lads at Matsumoku.org is quite the fan; I've certainly not seen that one before; could we have some more pix... headstock, etc.?? It certainly has overtones of the Vantage Avenger series in it...

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Here are some more pics and a link to his for sale ad.

I'm certainly interested in the guitar (how could you not be) but I just don't want to make a trade I will regret.

I'd have a punt on that being a setneck.... Anyway, what a pearler... an absolute belter!! What're you looking at trading for it?? I mean I wouldn't trade a 63 Strat or anything like that, but anything else would be fair game in my house!!!

Sarcaster, that's the look that the X-series Avengers... a wee while before Bernie thought up his designs!!

I'd be trading an Agile Al-3000

I think it looks more like a neck through, just from this picture.

either that or a very well made set neck.

Hmmm... Agile LP @ about US$380; probably a fair trade! If the pickups are OEM - prob. MMK45s - then you won't be sorry...

Setneck ... or they used a hellishly big blank to form the neck if it's a neckthru!!

Yeah, I'd guess set neck too, at best. Definitely borrows from the X Series Avengers, eh?

Frenchy has two Manhattans if memory serves. Maybe he also has one of these. Someone on the Mats forum does, I'm fairly certain. I've seen this model somewhere before. Maybe he'll pick up on this thread with some more info for you Boiling.

Hi guys!

Yep, I know this model and I also have seen this particular guitar before... I almost bought it....

For more details on this guitar read this thread:

http://www.matsumoku.org/ggboard/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6029

For more details on mine, different color, read here:

http://www.matsumoku.org/ggboard/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5998

Mine was not very expensive... so will not comment on the value since I got one hell of a deal...

Hope this helps you...

P.
