1981 Thunder II Bass l/h
Hi folks. Heres some pics of my recently acquired Thunder II. It was love at first site, while cruising ebay drunkedly i spotted her and new i just had to have it! Anyway im very happy, its by far the best bass iv ever played, knocks the socks off my fender jazz.
She was in a bit of a sorry state when recieved, but some good old fashioned tlc sorted that out. I decided against relaquering the hardware as i kinda dig the relic look. Its amazing the condition its in considering its age, a testament to the excellent build quality and craftmanship of uncle Mat.
And i love the xlr out, no longer will my performances be hindered by manic guitarists thrashing about and pulling out my leads
cheers
Lewis

What a beauty! That pickup layout is the best, just has the most gorgeous tone.

yeah sounds great, even through a crappy stag practice amp. really pianoish low end, growls like hell with a pick. cant wait to hear her through a valve amp....

Nice one. I have become a huge fan of Uncle Mat in the last year - they are seriously good guitars.
