New on here - advise please Thunder 1a - mark III?

First post - hello!
Just to say my first Westone was delivered today - 1986 with MagnaBass pickup.
Extremely tatty - needs some TLC BUT plugged it in and the sound is fantastic.
Doesn't seem to be too much mention of the single pick up models - any reason?
Also did have a run through with the band last night - found the bottow end very meaty but top end was lost - need to have a fiddle with my Hartke and get my head around the active pickup
