1983-ish Thunder II Bass, fretless.

Post  DuoFuzz on Sun Feb 14, 2010 9:45 pm

I thought I'd include this because it's both a looker and it's cheap!

Westone Thunder 2 fretless electric bass guitar, w/hard case - 99p Starting Bid (reserve not met)

I did a bit of detective work this one. This version only seems to appear in the 1983 catalogue and it came with a 22 fret, 32.25'' short scale neck. This is painted in the lovely Onyx finish and it still has it's Super Boomer 1 pickups and better than that, it still has all of it's brass including them knurled control knobs that usually go AWOL. It looks like the neck has been converted to fretless, Westone make no mention of a fretless version at the time?

I dont think its a fretless conversion, could be wrong, if it is nice job.

I didn't think fretless Thunders ever had fretlines or dot markers, so I'm guessing it was a conversion.

Shorter neck you say, might have a stab at this one.

From experience, the 32.25" scale is EXTREMELY comfortable.

I emailed the seller and it is a fretless conversion, professionally done.

Here's a cheeky one for ya!

I thought I recognised THIS newly listed bass, so I checked back through the past listings and found it in this old post.

I am certain that it's the same guitar but at a very different price. The last owner sold it for £101.11 and now the current seller is asking £295 Buy It Now or Make An Offer!

Can't put a fella down for trying to make a profit can ya! pirat
