My friend picked one up a while back and i just went to see him play live a couple of weeks back and I almost fell off of my seat when he started playing. He has a PRS guitar and just uses the amp with a foot switch to switch between channels and a little delay to fatten his sound as he is the only guitarist in the band, but no other effects. Guitar: late 60's or so "Raven" bass. Plain Jane copy of Fender's Jazz bass. Single pup. Nice one-piece maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Sunburst tobacco finish on one-piece mahogany body. Bolt on neck. Back plate reads "Made in Japan" ... very similar to the MIJ inscription on the plate bolted to my 1982 Westone x70. To me, it looks like an early example of a Japanese stuff that flooded the ... It's a 1984 Peavey Horizon II finished in what's officially known as Rose Pearl. The build quality and condition is stunning, and it plays like a dream. That colour changes from an orange shade off the light to a frost pink when the light shines on it. The only thing missing is the trem arm but an email to Peavey in the US has given me the part number I need. Not much else to say really, although I think my family might be ... I just picked it up this week. Its absolutely gorgeous. Dark wood stained, bolt on neck, similar to SG shape and sporting two cream MMK 45's (original fitment). It has a very Matsumoku type serial number 1040312 (1981?) on the neck plate but that is all it says (No Japan or Matsumoku). Only two knobs, a pickup switch and a mini toggle coil tap switch. It is obviously a quality instrument and cost me very little, so I'm well chuffed.
