Does anyone have any details on the OFC pickups that are in some of the higher panteras?
Just curious about the advantages/disadvantages of oxygen free copper pickups.
I see some of the Pantera owner posts on the forum where they have replaced the orginals with their prefered PUP of choice.
Can anyone shed some light on the sounds, styles and preferable some examples of what these rare PUPS sound like?

Westone guitars will be 30 next year and I thought it would be fun and interesting to see which member on these forums has the oldest model.............. so come on who has the oldest Westone??? and remember "We want pictures" so show us your serial numbers! it's not me as my oldest model is a January 1982 Thunder bass............. but here is an example of proof anyone??

God help me, I was just watching the video of" True" - Spandau Ballet - I was bored, OK; pommy TV is appalling!!! - and at the very end is a shot of Gary Kemp who seems to be playing a white Rainbow. I've tried Youtubing it but the clip there is about 20 seconds too short; the bit that made me sit up and take notice was right at the end!!

Anyone confirm or deny????

There was a link or a thread some while back to a definitive? list of guitars / brands that were crafted by Mat that I now cant find! Can anyone provide that link please. A friend of mine has just bought a Commodore 335 replica and the seller claims it was made by Mat. The basis for this, as I understand, it is that the Commodore is very similar to the Aria TA 335's of the period. I'm in no doubt that this is a period piece but was it made by Mat and for who? I think Trevor Rabin is the biggest name to use a Westone and his 390 is the most 'famous' Westone. From what I have found on this forum, it was given to him by Mr Presley. At some point Trevor wiped the Westone logo on the headstock, Alvarez was put on the headstock and the Pantera logo on the body was smudged out (Rabin's instuctional video shows his Westone 390 and Trevor explains how he got the guitar from Presley. A teenage girl that I know brought her dad's X350MA for me to see and play the other day. We have the same guitar instructor and I was able to play this guitar during my lesson on Tuesday night. It had the TOM/STP bridge arrangement, stock pickups and knobs, and no push-pull pots. It played like butter of course and the bridge gave it spectacular sustain - better than my X390s with Kahler bridges. The strings could have been 10 years old. I want it bad!!! It's hard to say ...

Well I finally decided to go for a guitar lesson, as this self-teaching lark isn't getting me very far. I know the basic Major chords, a few minors, and struggle with barre chords, and still can't string them together very well.
Is there anything I should be doing/working on before I go? I've never been before, and want to make the most of my 1/2 hour.
Any advice welcome.

Westone Electra X199 saddle

Hello fellow Westone lovers, I recently purchased a Electra Westone X199 and it has the same saddles as the Fx above. It is misssing a saddle and i've looked all over and can't find one like the replacement saddle on the high e string above. If anyone knows where these are available i'd be a happy camper. X300 Pantera project from eBay

Hi all, I bought the X330 that has been on eBay for awhile to restore. The body looks pretty good. The neck looks very dirty, but I've been assured by the seller that the neck is straight and the frets are good. we'll see. She'll take a return minus shipping.
