A bigger problem is the active circuit, it's should be on the inside of the backplate but it's missing from the pics and the seller says that someone got halfway through bypassing the active side of the electrics!!! I wonder if anyone could help clear the mist with regard to the different models of Thunder basses? I sort of understand some things - the A is active, the I has a single pickup, II and III have two pickups, sometimes in a p/j type configuration, and a through neck. Thunder Jet seems to look like a cool I. But that is just from looking at pictures and reading the texts - what are they actually like? And are there any jewels in the crown? Guitar: late 60's or so "Raven" bass. Plain Jane copy of Fender's Jazz bass. Single pup. Nice one-piece maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Sunburst tobacco finish on one-piece mahogany body. Bolt on neck. Back plate reads "Made in Japan" ... very similar to the MIJ inscription on the plate bolted to my 1982 Westone x70. To me, it looks like an early example of a Japanese stuff that flooded the market ...
